The Polesworth School has prided itself on being at the forefront of International linking for 8 years. As well as three whole school links with schools in Ghana, India and China we are currently involved in a highly successful Comenius project with schools in Europe and other smaller scale projects. Our dream is that our students will leave school with an understanding of key issues arising from cultural variations, trade, poverty and inequality. Our vision is that staff will develop a global dimension to their teaching; that study visits will enhance personal skills and deepen academic interests. Our mission is to play our part in educating young people to embrace change; indeed, to instil in them the courage and belief needed to change the world for the better and to awaken a sense of hope for the future. We plan to: - create links in South America
and Australia ensuring contact with all five continents. - Further develop our International curriculum. - Retain our reputation for excellence in this field. To date our work has been awarded: - TES International Secondary School of the Year, 2006 - Leading Aspect Award - Internationalism, Development Education and Global - Investors in People, Award for Outstanding Practice in Coventry and North Warwickshire - Race Equality Award, North Warwickshire - British Council - International School Status – 2004 onwards - Impetus Award (Human Rights)
