'Ghana' by Rachel Naylor - ISBN – 0855984317 – published by Oxfam

'Colors of Ghana' (quite suitable for young year 7 or primary) to stimulate discussions, it tells you the Twi for each colour, has an image and then tells you the story of some significance linked to the colour. It is by Holly Littlefield - the ISBN is 1575053748.

Longman 'Basic Social Studies Atlas for Ghana' by Prof Benneh (Editorial Adviser) - this is used as a textbook in Ghana and is full of maps showing various things - very student friendly and even has the National Anthem on the back cover.  It feels very genuine and quite Ghanaian.

For a bit of fun - I use the book, 'A Comprehensive course in Twi (Asante) to brush up and to learn appropriate words to drop into schemes of work - by Florence Dolphyne - ISBN - 9964302452.

In the book, 'Contemporary African Plays' there is a Ghanaian playscript - though it is quite complex, it is called 'Anowa' by Ama Ata Aidoo.  ISBN - 0413723305.

The CD, 'A rough guide to the music of Nigeria and Ghana' is good (Amazon link - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Africa-Nigeria-Musical-African-Continent/dp/B00005Y48M/sr=8-2/qid=1172344582/ref=pd_ka_2/026-3731588-4974854?ie=UTF8&s=music)
