Welcome to the Drama Department
The Drama department at Polesworth is highly respected throughout Warwickshire and students from the school have performed in theatres in Cannock, Warwick, Stratford and at all of our local primaries.
Over the last few years we have been involved with several Artzone projects and the Schools’ Shakespeare Festival which have led to exciting performances such as ‘The Tempest’, the Anti- bullying Drama and, recently, an outside performance of ‘Titus Andronicus’ in Stratford-upon-Avon. Of course, the annual school production, which is such a successful feature of the school year, is led by the department and involves students from all years acting, dancing, singing and playing as musicians. It is a wonderful celebration of Polesworth’s talent.
Drama is taught to all pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 and as an option at G.C.S.E. and A level. It is a lively and exciting subject and offers students the opportunity to develop important group skills, have confidence in their own expression and to explore texts, ideas, issues and relationships.
